Jim became pastor of SMRBC in 2006 after ten years serving with the International Mission Board in Asia and in Richmond. Originally from Rocky Mount, NC, he is a graduate of Wingate University, Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). As pastor, Jim is committed to joyful expository preaching, while leading the church to love our neighbors and to reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jim and Joy have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and three grandchildren.
