The best first step is to join us for one of our three Sunday morning worship services: 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00. Our 11:00 AM service is also livestreamed on this website each week. To experience a worship service in advance, check out a recent worship service on our livestream page.
At the end of our worship services Pastor Jim and some of our deacons would love to pray with you and help with any spiritual decisions you are making.
Another way to connect is to use the online Connection Card. We will reach out to you and set up a phone call or other personal contact where we can answer your questions. Pastor Jim and our other pastors love to sit down and visit with new and prospective members over coffee or tea! Use the Connection Card and schedule a time.
We encourage everyone to get involved in a Life Group (a small group) that meets during the week. This is where you will get to know people by name and experience genuine community. We call these “Life Groups” because you will grow and share life together with these friends. Many of our groups meet on Sunday mornings, but we also have groups that meet Sunday evening and on different weeknights. To learn more, please contact the church office and we will help you get connected: email@smrbc.org or 804-672-6811.
We have a great team of children’s volunteers ready to welcome you and your children. Everyone in our children’s ministry has had a background check and has been trained in the safe and appropriate care of children. Our children’s leaders are eager to point kids to the love of Jesus and to the wonderful truths of the Bible. We have two children’s Sunday School hours (birth-5th grade) at 9:30 and 11:00. Preschoolers are invited to stay both hours if you are worshipping and attending a morning Life Group. School age children will worship with you and then attend Sunday School while you are in your Life Group. Contact the church office to speak with Pastor Dustin about any questions you have. We want to help your child feel completely welcome!
Joining a local church is an important spiritual commitment. We invite you to go from “attending” to “belonging” as soon as you are ready. We will guide you through these steps in the membership process (not necessarily in this order):
