A Hands-On Journey Through the First Passover and the Story of Jesus
This year, we invite your family to experience the story of Easter in a meaningful and interactive way through a family Seder meal.
A Seder (pronounced say-der) is a special Passover gathering that retells how God delivered His people from slavery in Egypt. Throughout the evening, we’ll taste symbolic foods, ask important questions, and walk through the Exodus story together.
As we do, we’ll also see how the Passover points us to Jesus — our true Passover Lamb — and the redemption He offers.
Because this is an interactive meal experience and each table will be prepared with specific symbolic elements, registration is required so we can prepare appropriately for every family. To help cover the cost of food and materials, we are asking for a $10 per family contribution at the time of registration. (See REGISTRATION BUTTON BELOW)
Why We’re Doing This at SMRBC
Passover was designed to spark questions from children: “When your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean?’…” -Exodus 12:26
We want to create space for those kinds of questions in our church and in your home. This evening will help families:
A Note About This Event
This is a Christian teaching experience inspired by the traditional Passover Seder. We approach the evening with deep respect for the Jewish roots of our faith. Our goal is not to reenact modern Jewish worship practices, but to help families understand:
We will clearly explain the meaning of each element from Scripture and show how the story of redemption unfolds from Exodus to Easter.
